With any Integrative STE[A]M course, educators will learn to guide students to see and understand the connections between STE[A]M disciplines and the impacts to local, regional and global events in addition to the practical use of 21st century skills and knowledge in their own lives.
Cognitive teaching and learning approaches are grounded in several types of thinking: critical, creative, strategic, systems and design thinking. Educators will learn how to develop and harness these types of thinking to design engaging and meaningful instruction to help students develop their own creative and critical thinking, communication, and problem solving skills.
Instructional Strategies And Techniques
Educators will build their instructional strategy toolbox to teach for understanding and to facilitate deeper student learning. The techniques and skills acquired can be transferred across any subject or discipline. We offer differentiation, reading in the content areas, backwards design, inquiry-based learning, progressive learning, design-based learning, opportunities to learn to incorporate making and tinkering techniques into a curriculum, and much more!

Integrating educational technology into instructional design and practice can be intimidating and overwhelming. Steep learning curves and intense training often accompany many educational programs and apps. We’ve designed our apps to provide simple, inexpensive web-based solutions for ease of use with any course or class. Our workshop sessions provide a lively atmosphere in which to quickly learn the technology and begin designing ways to integrate these powerful and creative tools into instruction.
